Hi all,

My transmission has been fantastic other than a strange lurch from 1st to 2nd gear when accelerating from a stop. Only happens when accelerating slowly. Ive heard that at high mileage you shouldn't change your transmission fluid on these trucks? I have 125k and I have no knowledge of the transmission fluid being changed. I am capable of changing it myself and know the process on these trucks.

 

i would change it and maybe put a additive in it, there is also a filter in there, I've changed 2 or 3 tranny fluids over the years and never had a issue, just follow the procedures on how to fill it and check the level while its running,

 

get a d1 transmission pan to swap in when you drain it. D1s and Classics came with dipsticks which make checking level and even topping off much simpler.

 

Does the pan just swap straight in? I have one from a GEMS P38 which should be the same.

 

yep, fresh gasket and should be good to go.
