Default Transmission problems....

K driving to work today on the highway. As from a before mentioned post. My transfer case in neutral light was flashing with an audible warning. Fixed that by just cleaning up all the connectors going to T Case. But when that started it also started shifting late and hard into 2nd gear and also just eating up the gas. Gonna drain the tranny and see what i find and check the diffs. What do you guys think? I'm hoping its not a new tranny for me, which seems very possible.... Any similar experiences and or input would be much appreciated. Thanks

Gosh, you can do the tranny filter so much easier than a D1, may want to do that as well. There is also a switch on the left side of tranny (the XYZ switch) that can get full of gunk, and need to be replaced or opened up and cleaned out and re-sealed. Trannys throw codes as well.

Ya I'll check that out. One thing, It didn't throw any codes so hopefully it's something minor.

The transmission is the strongest part on these trucks unless of course it takes a blow from the drive shaft. They usually don't just fail if they are properly maintained. Like buzz said i would do a filter and fluid change and also check all connections including xyz check solenoids and electrical parts first before tearing apart the trans.
