Talking Transmission Shudder at 40 mph on DII

Alight, still working through the new DII. The transmission has the usual regular and sport modes. At 40 mph, plus or minus a couple of mph, in the regular mode only, not the sport mode, the tranny shudders. It only does it from about 38 mph to 42 mph. If I shift to the sport mode, no shudder at any speed. I will check the fluid level and condition tomorrow, along with the diffs and transfer case. The truck has had one of the double cardon u-joints replaced with a servicable unit, odd they didn't change both. I doubt that is the cause of the shudder given that in sport mode there is no shudder.

So what does the braintrust say about this one?

Phil

When was the fluid and filter last changed? I would change it if you do not have any history on it, if the fluid is burned/brown fill and drain it twice to get rid of as much old fluid as you can. Do you know the procedure to check and or refill the tranny?

Mike, thanks as always for the info. As to the procedure, yes. As for the timing of the filter change, do you recommend 1. changing the filter on the first drain or 2. after the second drain? Thanks again. Phil

ps, do you recommend adding the Lucas Tranny Treatment as well, as per the 60k service list.
