Transmission sluggish in releasing

I did my ATF change +Lucas about 1k ago and I have to say that the shift from 1st to 2nd is somewhat abrupt when cold. Feels like the clutch was released a tad too fast when driving a stick (of course my '03 is an auto). So I guess it may be normal. But I'm happy to listen if someone has a solution.
