Default Transmission Temp warning light

I finished my D1 Center Diff Lock lever this weekend on my 2000 DII. I started and checked that everything was working before I buttoned up the center console, except I missed the red "Trans temp" warning light. It was behind the steering wheel and didn't see it.

SO....

I started the vehicle to take a test drive after the lever install, and my trans temp warning light was on. I know the trans wasn't hot, because the vehicle hadn't been started in a week and it was 38f in the garage.

I obviously unplugged or hit something during the D1 CDL conversion. The RAVE is vague on where this sensor is on the tranny. Does anyone have a pic or detailed description on where it is?

Many thanks

You are half right, it couldn't be the transmission - because that sensor is up by the radiator. The light does double duty and also illuminates if the transfer case overheats. All it takes is a ground on the wire, so you could have a skinned wire, or it got pinched under something. It will be a black&light green wire. Attached are pix of both connectors (tranny and TC). Rover too cheap to have a second light I guess, which saved enough money to have a way-to-fancy alarm system.
