Possible but there should be some fault codes showing either way.
Have you done what I asked and checked your fluid level, what brand of fluid was installed?. You need to answer when some one is trying to help you or it is a waste of my time and yours.

Last fall I had a leak around the gasket of the throttle body heater. I bypassed the heater with a piece of copper tubing. Who needs a throttle body heater in Phoenix? It turns out that it also cools the throttle body which in turn stabilizes the MAF sensor. Last week in Phoenix we had temps 10-15 degrees above average for the first time since I bypassed the TBH.
After my indie reconnected the TBH I drove around under similar conditions, although the temps were not as high as when the problem occurred I did not have the high rev issue on the 1 to 2 shift that I previously had.
It will be above 100 in Phoenix towards the end of next week. I’ll report my findings.

I'd have agree they just gave you a line of BS to get rid of you or to cover the fact that the tranny was low on fluid. The temperture that your engine sucks air in has nothing to do with your shift points.
If your luckly if was just low of fluid (they may not have topped it off running)and they dont want to admit they made a mistake.

Quick Update on my transmission shifting delay.
The temperature in Phoenix were well into the 100's last week, similar to when I first started having the issue.
I have not experienced the problem under the same conditions.
Previously it only happened under high air temps, stop and go driving and after the truck has been running for about an hour.

If it starts shifting wrong again, especially in the upper gears and you have checked everything else, you might consider having the trannies ECU adaptive memory reset, some times it gets out of adjustment.
