Consider adding a bottle of Lucas tranny additive on your next change to help free up all the internal parts for better shifting.

no... it's supposed to be done in the 30k service and that is it

replacing the filter means dropping the sump which is a hard as the exhaust, and a giant bar are in the way.
Explain the history of service on your car and discomike or spike will recommend either changing it or letting it be

Unless for some reason you have really burned fluid, then do a drain and refil and a few days later do a filter change and fluid change.

It was supposed to be done by the dealer at 30,000 miles.
If you do not know if it has ever been done then do it and then you will know that it has been done.
Changing a filter never hurts anything, not changing it will.
