I have a Prodigy RF Wireless controller. So I do not have to hook up a brake control module. All I need to do is set up a trigger.... I might be able to pull directly off of the brake light feed?
I feel as though I am the only one that has really tried to go away from the regular flat 4 pin and I must really be blazing a trail here!

And yes you are blazing the trail on the 7 pole...i have only seen 1 other thread on wiring a brake controller ...7 pole is usually associated with larger trailers that have electric brakes the in-between trailers typically come with surge brakes which take all this wiring out of the picture...Rover never thought anyone would tow anything so they didnt even provide the 4 pin...jerks!

Got it all figured out.
I hooked the trailer yesterday and drove around at both highway and city speeds with fantastic results.
I posted this the other day, it is the culmination of my research and now functional proof that it works - hope this helps.

Does anyone have practical experience towing a travel trailer?
I'm looking at towing my in-laws trailer but I am a little weary about strapping a 22ft trailer to the back without a little help from those of you who are experienced in this.
The Rover dealer knows nothing other than what the manual says and these vehicles are not exactly the usual ford f150/350 or suburbans the local trailer dealers are used to - so they know little of what to expect......
Any help is appreciated.

I'm sure its just what a Disco 2 would look like given the long, thoughtful process of development that LR is known for.
