Default Treadwright tires-need an honest opinion

I am shopping for tires and these tires comes up a lot. How well are they holding up and would you recommend them for a DD truck? I will be getting 265-75-16 and probably mounting them on steelies, 2003 D2 with a med Terrafirma lift. Let me know guys. I want MT tread because during my last offroad trip I noticed the MT equipped trucks were getting better traction than my Cooper Discoverer ST were that I am using now in the 255-70-16 size.

Ed, aka hilltoppersx just got a set for his truck, so I'm sure he'll pipe in, especially after Rovers on the Rocks this weekend, I would expect a full report and write up from him. Last time we were at Rausch, a few FJ cruiser guys were running them and had nothing but praise

I have been looking at tires for some time now. If I could afford it, I would buy a set of Good Year Dura Trac, but money is tight so the Treadwright tire is my pick. Yes they are cheaper, but that is not the only reason I am ordering some soon, they are well built, you can order what ever tire carcass brand you want, in my case BFG's and the tread choices are great.
this is what I will be ordering, http://www.treadwright.com/shopnow/p...inel-at-d.aspx

as said before i will give a good writeup this weekend after wheeling with them. I'm running the Guard Dog (e rated) tread in a 265/75/16 on BFG bases. As for road driving the noise is not that bad. Its a little hum but I have heard worse. There is some slight rubbing on the radius arms when cranking the wheel to the max in either direction. As far as re-treads go, they have come a LONG way and i would say 4 of the 5 I ordered you can't even see the seam. The price can't be beat and they shipped super fast.

There are no tread seams, this is a spin on tread slab not a one piece, old style slab.

Thanks all, I think I will order a set next week. It's nice to save money and get a product that is just as good or if not better. That money saved will go into the truck anyways haha.
