Tricky Dick - CDL Project
Totally rewarding...I've been stopped due to wheel spin using only traction control on steep loose rocky terrain, lock in the CDL, and it drives right out and over what ever it was stopping you. CDL is a must if you go off road.
Update
button everything back together
i don't like where the lever is using the stock holes that the original lever was.
going to drill new holes an inch towards the drivers side and remount it. Will take before and after pictures in case anyone is using the same part

Does this britpart DA1178 kit have the solenoid on it? Since I don't have a nipple on my transfer case, i need to swap in a case from an 04. But, the 04 does not have a solenoid because the solenoid is on the shifter. I'm getting impatient trying to find an 04 shifter and since the price is cheaper on the britpart kit, I'm leaning towards that option.

Dang. I suppose I'd have to get a solenoid and mount it on the transfer case if I wanted to go with the britpart kit.
thinking out loud...does lrdirect sell the solenoid separately? I am away from my computer but, might be worth a search on the solenoid part number
Yeah they do. IGM500011
It would be better to have the solenoid on the shifter though. I don't know if its possible to add it to the britpart shifter.
Jeff, another option is to go without the solenoid. It was NAS and Japan-only.
From the RAVE
Transfer box interlock solenoid - Automatic gearbox vehicles
An interlock solenoid is fitted for North America and Japan. The solenoid is located on the top of the transfer box main casing on vehicles up to '03 model year or on the selector lever assembly on vehicles from '03 model year. The solenoid is connected to the transfer box relay which, in turn, is controlled by the IDM. The purpose of the solenoid is to prevent neutral being selected on the transfer box when the ignition key is removed, thereby locking the box in either high or low ratio.
