I ordered the OEM T Stat from Lucky8's store front so I could get my free Lucky8 sticker to make Tricky Dick legit.

I need to go to Harbor Freight and get a few clamps so I can clamp the hoses and not dump out all the coolant when I replace.

update

just installed the lucky8 OEM t-stat (they didn't mail me my sticker = |)

first hot run, need to bleed the system as my hose clamps didn't stop all the coolant from dumping out on my garage floor.

Status:
Heater is blowing hot air.
Temp got to 215 but, under load dropped to 190, previous AB t-stat never got below 200 and the high got to 221. I think the AB t-stat was a bum one but, don't hold them accountable.

Will do a stone cold bleed tomorrow AM and give it another hot run to check the temp and get the last of the air bubbles out.

well at least we know what the problem was. A good bleed or two should have it all set now. Good to know ole tricky dicky will be road worthy even if the dick isn't tricked with the lucky8 sticker

I think lucky8 didn't send the sticker on purpose in attempt that I will order more parts to make Tricky Dick legit.

Crossing my fingers that it was just a bad t-stat as I really don't want to replace the heater core.

Also...I have a small exhaust leak on the drivers side. Was thinking of getting an exhaust gasket kit but, if I do that...I might as well just get a complete new exhaust system that is catless (at least that is how my mind works).

It's gonna be a bad t stat. No worries on that. It will be a pia doing a cat less system. That's why I just just a new magnaflow y pipe and ceramic coated that puppy. The heat stays down more under the hood and has a growl to the panty dropper. I can't say she has an increase in power but she growls a bit louder

update

While the new t-stat did solve the no hot air issue, I did run into what I "think" was the root cause or rather a factor.

After numerous attempts on getting the babbling brook sound to go away, I took another attempt this weekend. What I noticed...I had a small leak from the hose that goes from the expansion tank to the heating plate. There wasn't coolant coming out but, it was allowing pressure to escape and maybe even introducing air into the system. After doing a temp fix, I did another bleed and to my surprise the babbling brook went away. I am going to do a more permanent fix, need to get a new hose clamps, later this weekend.

going to take Tricky Dick for a test run today and see if I got that last bit of air out of the system.

I have noticed that, in the garage, my temps seem to be more constant and I don't have the wide fluctuations in temp as I was seeing before (i.e. 190 to 221) but, that is garage conditions...

update

went for a drive and I am still getting a slight gurgling sound but, I will do another bleed tomorrow.

For temps again, I was seeing more consistent temp ranges from 194 to 204, I feel much better seeing a 10 degree swing than the 30 degree swing I was seeing before.
