Default Trouble Codes - Can someone Please decode?

I have a '97 Land Rover Discovery (4.0L Auto) that I purchased used and I love to death. The engine light was on when I purchased it so I brought it to a Ford dealer (I know Ford did not own Land Rover in '97) and all they could do was read off and give me the trouble codes. I'm hoping one of you could please help me out and tell me what they mean. Thank you in advance, here are the codes: P1316, P1138, P300, P306, PP305, P1176, P1314.

While I'm asking, I think I need to change the headgaskets but you guys can let me know what you think. The engine didn't have any leaks when I bought it but now that I've driven it and changed the oil twice (I'm now running Castrol Synthetic), it's leaking like a sieve. Oil drips down the passenger side of the engine onto the cat and stinks. A little bit of antifreeze has leaked out of the front of the engine but I tasted the oil and it did not taste sweet at all and is also jet black, not milky. Lastly, the oil on the dipstick reeks of fuel. So do these symptoms sound like headgaskets or something else?

I appreciate any information you guys can provide me with.

The 300 codes relate to multiple misfires, and specifically to cylinders 5 and 6 --- so those injectors are either leaking or hanging open. The 1314 code indicates that your Bank "B" catalytic convertor has failed ---probably due to the overly rich fuel misture being delivered. The fluid leak locations that are common include the intake manifold, front timing case cover, and head gasket(s). If you have "packed up" a catalytic convertor, then the exhaust flow back-up on that bank will cause major engine damage --- and that includes a failed head gasket.

Get it diagnosed by a professional NOW -- or risk facing a $8K engine replacement.

Here are the descritions of my codes. I would still love to know possible causes and solutions.

P1316 - Misfire causing excessive emissions
P1138 - HO2S failed to switch to lean, bank "A"
P0300 - Random misfire detected
P0306 - Cylinder 6 misfire detected
P0305 - Cylinder 5 misfire detected
P1176 - FMFR correction at maximum positive value
P1314 - Misfire likely to damage catalyst, bank "B"[/align]
