1.Where is the fuel filter located and an easy DIY?
2.What is the stock diameter and OHM of the sparkplug wires?
3.What if I just replaced the spark plugs with the BOSCH PLAT +4 and left the stock original wires?
4. Hows this wire compared to stock and magnecor?

Fuel filter is in the r/r wheel well.
Use only 8 mm Magnacor wires.
If you have original factory wires on your D1, replace them, they are shot.
There is no comparison. Use them if you want, but they will fail.

I may be flogged and publicly ridiculed for saying so, but STI wires are fine as well. I am using them and know of MANY other Rover enthusiasts and technicians that swear by them. Some even claim to like them better than the Magnecor wires. Blasphemy! LOL

Promise not to flog you, just seen too many other aftermarket wires fail. That being said, I have a few friend that are running them and have not had any problems.
When asked though I stay on the safe side, as you know replacing the wires is not easy and you don't want to replace them twice.

Should you replace your wires after so many miles or jsut when you start noticing performance issues or see that they are failing/ obviously worn out? I just switched to the magenors and was jsut wondering.

Fuel filter will not help your mileage just take some of the back pressure off your pump.
