Ugh! Central Locking is acting up again.
Pressing the CDL button and the fuse in the panel on the driver side fuse box pops. I dealt with this last summer and thought i had it fixed. I pilled all the door switches and clean as best as I could
Now, with ALL 5 of the door lock mex unhooked, the fuses still pops when I press the switch to unlock. If I press the switch down to lock, the fuse does not pop. So, I have a direct short somewhere on the "unlock" side.
Anyone dealt with this before?

Have you studied the Electrical Circuits PDF and the Electrical Library PDF? I taught myself how to read and use them to solve a few different problems, just not the problem you're having.
If you don't have them search for "discovery series II electrical circuits" and "discovery series II electrical library."

Pressing the door unlock button closes a circuit that signals the BCU to send a signal to the IDM to energize the door lock relays in the passenger compartment fuse box.
The fact that pressing LOCK blows the fuse but pressing UNLOCK does not is important, I think. There is only one wire going to each primary door lock motor (not including the superlock motors).
The motors turn one direction for LOCK and the opposite direction for unlock based on reversing polarity, I believe, which is controlled by the IDM. To me that indicates the problem is with one of the relays built into the passenger compartment fuse box.
If the short were downstream from the fuse box I'd think it would blow the fuse when UNLOCK is pressed. Based on this analysis if I were in your situation I would try replacing the passenger compartment fuse box.
I could of course be entirely wrong. Diagnose, diagnose, diagnose.

I had the drivers side fuse box out last summer and found no problems at all. No signs of water intrusion or corrosion. perhaps there is an issue with the circuit board there in. I'm still searching.....
Hi new to forum,
I have a 2003 Land rover Discover 2. It will not smog because OBD II will not communicate monitors to the smog tech. When I scan it it reads some info... voltage, load etc. but much data is missing like MPG, O2 sensors, MAF etc. AND NO monitors. I have been to AMMCO who used the 12k scanner and to the dealership who told me a I Need a new ECM. I put in a ECM/BCU/GAUGE CLUSTER from another vehicle. SAME RESULTS! Please HELP someone must know why this vehicle would send some OBD data and not the rest?

Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear that you're having issues with your Rover. Looks like you're having some difficulty figuring out where to post this based on your 3 screams for help haha
If you go up to the top of the page, select 'Forums' in the menu, click on Discovery II and 'start a new thread'. Other forum members that have had similar issues or know how to fix your issue will be able to respond to you directly. Sometimes new forums can be confusing.. I know. Good luck!
The OP has more than 150 posts, so isn't exactly new here.
Which makes me wonder why he can't even wait a whole day before complaining that nobody that had answered him.
Does the fuse still blow if you change the switch itself?
