Default Ultragauge saved me, but how to solve the coolant leak (inline thermostat)

Hi all,

was driving tonight and pushed the pedal to the metal a couple of times. After about 10-15 minutes a saw the voltage dropping to around 11 volts. Creeping back up slowly to around 13.6 to 13.8, so went straight home.

after opening to hood i saw coolant in the engine bay, so something was leaking.

turned out to be the little coolant hose near the alternator pulley, i think the belt was slipping because of the coolant spray it got, causing the voltage drop.

how do you guys make sure that the little coolant hose does not rub against the alternator pulley? I have the inline thermostat mod and to be honest i always thought the hose was to close to the pulley.

perhaps some (engine?)mount somewhere is bad causing the engine to tilt while giving full throttle.

i have a 200 km trip tomorrow so i would like to know how you would fix this

thanks!

apart from the leak, hopefully the alternator will keep working…

You have the hose slid to far down on the manifold neck, slide it up slightly and you will have plenty of clearance.
