Amazing kindness is quite common round here. As is the usual curmudgeonly gripes. Most of all- some damn well knowledgeable folks willing to help. Welcome. Keep at it, you'll get that fixed.

Even though I haven't actually rectified the cause of my three amigos , because of the help and offer of even personnel assistance from you guys on here I know the problem and possible way to cure it. As with all the forums I prescribe to for various things such as caravanning , biking and numerous other pastimes , there is always help offered by helpful people and it is gratifying to know that help is always out there. Once again thanks to all you guys and your help is really appreciated.

continuing the saga.......can someone tell me if instead of bi-passing the wiring on the old switch , would it do the job better if I purchased a new switch and just changed it over? thanks

No, that won't help because the fault is most often with a printed circuit to which the shuttle valve switches are attached, not with the switches themselves. If you replace the switches the root of the problem will not have been addressed. Do Option B.

when i had the 3 amigos issue on both my '04's i replaced the switch and did the Option B fix at the same time. figured since i was in there i might as well do some preventive maintenance. especially, considering the mileage on my trucks.

The switches should be inspected for brake fluid contamination and tested with a multimeter as described in Josh Salas's Option B write-up. Many do go ahead a replace the switches when doing Option B. I inspected and tested the ones in my truck and they were fine so I reinstalled them. All's still well, 7½ years later. The switch assembly is $44.00 from Lucky8 or £51.59 from Rimmer Bros (£32.00 aftermarket).

Well, woodchip2bert, is your instrument panel still quiet or have the Three Amigos returned?
