How old is your alternator? I recently took a vacation to the beach and it acted up a bit. Mine is a Bosch remanufactured that is at least 7 years old. Works fine for the most part, but doesn't seem to handle full load...lights, AC, defroster, etc. Drops to 12.8. I have a new Bosch 150 amp en route. Might want to monitor voltages while driving and idling with full load before your trip.
Where are you getting a 150 amp Bosch alternator that fits? I will need to upgrade mine at some point.

Have to drive back too, and I've been wanting an alternator with more amps. Keep the existing as a spare.
I was going to snag one from a range rover at pick a part, but that takes time and new is better.

Silver Point, a bit west of Cookeville.
I'll be taking the 40 all the way so will pass through Nashville.
Good to have a Discovery neighbor. Let me know if there are any good mechanics in Tennessee and we should go off roading at some point.

Lance’s foreign auto is my go to. He basically only does rovers from defenders to LR4s and RRs and everything in between. There are probably 6 dII’s in his lot at any given time. I work next door to him. Good dude but he stays booked up.
there’s also a guy in gallatin on 190 on the south side of the bridge that goes over the river that only works on rovers. I’ve heard good things. Think he’s done a D2 TD5 swap before.
