Default Update on Cheap New Ignition Switch

So anyway I recently posted the link below which advertised a new ignition switch for the D2 for $63 shipped from the UK.

It arrived in three weeks. It was for a left hand drive.

It was slightly different and may be a D1 switch but it works. The electrical plugs were different so I snipped off the wires that are on the white plug on the original switch leaving the little red light which illuminates the bezel and plugged it to the original connector. The door dinger doesn't work now but I hated that thing anyway. Also the original switch had 2 set screws holding the ignition harness which came in from the side. The new one requires (2) 2.5 mm metric machine screws coming in from the back (about 1/2 long from hardware store). I had to use a small drill bit and make the holes on the switch a hair bigger. Anyway I a damn happy with it.

Steering Lock / Ignition Switch Discovery 2 (Economy) D2LOCK Island 4x4 - Specialists in Land Rover and Range Rover Parts and accessories for all models. UK and worldwide mail order.
