Default Using the WIX Oil Filter

Over the years I have read on many occasions that a number of forum members use the the large WIX 51459 filter in order to raise the oil pressure. My D2 still has the plastic shield in place and I'm not in a position to remove it. My question is simple: Is there enough clearance between the the shield and the oil filter assembly to get the WIX in via the "access port" in the shield?

There is enough room. But you should take off the plastic thing. Just unscrew it, cut it into a few pieces and it will come off. It's only there to hide leaks anyway.

I prefer to keep my oil leaks contained. That way my children will not have to see a grown man cry.
