Default Updated pictures (exhaust/ caliper)

Recently had to have exhaust work done moving to N.C. They have emissions tests. The exhaust pipe was previously cut over the axle. I used a 3-1/8" metal hole saw bit. I laid it out to the position that I wanted and taped blue painters tape over the hole area to protect the paint ~5"x 5". Then drilled a pilot hole in the center to lock the 3-1/8" bit in place. The exhaust pipe had a bracket welded on to prevent it from vibrating and moving around. The rubber gasket was a piece of 3/16" vacuum hose that I slit as recommended by the exhaust shop. I used a generic chrome tip from Advanced Auto to clean up and beef up the pipe. It blends in with the lug nuts and raw aluminum face on the wheels.

Thoughts?

Looks like a real clean job! well done! the only thing i would be concerned with is that fender getting black from the exhaust? If that became a problem maybe putting a clear film protector just on that section would help protect it better and make for easier clean-up. How has it been thus far? Drive it much since the mod?

Should have routed it through the cabin and out the roof with a 4" exhaust!...just kidding

Hard to tell the caliper is painted except for that 1 photo. Do you like it? Was the work worth it?

Just a thought, are they going to be able to hook up the exhaust thing at the emissions place? Cant think of what the device looked like when i took mine...

The caliper paint lasts about a year. Brake dust always manages to build up even with cleaning. The ceramic kit that I got where you mix the epoxy with the paint always chips on me from Duplicolor (red). I tried yellow spray paint for calipers this time... not easy. I'd rather brush it on.

The exhaust has not left any build up.... after a month. I did not get to see the test done. The guy at the shop loved my Disco. I know that they slide a probe in the tail pipe and also plug into the OBD. All's I know is that it passed and I'm happy. It helps to call a shop that repairs Land Rover's to get an opinion on where to take your vehicle for the test. It did for me... this time.
