updates and P0441
So this code came back and I was wondering if anyone has fixed this yet. P0441 - incorrect purge valve flow etc.
Also after replacing the alternator the bat light still comes on when I first turn the truck on after sitting over night. After revving it to 1500 or so it turns off and stays off until it sits again.
Also I have completed my move and the rover made it to Estes Colorado, woohoo. Getting a part time job at the auto part store just for discounts.

Sounds like your battery is not holding a charge. Have the battery tested. Have the Cold Cranking Amps tested as well on it. The cheap little testers will not tell you that. I have mine tested at Advanced Auto Parts. Their machine will print you out the results and show how many CCA your battery is producing.
I know they are 2 *seperate* issues.
Bat is good and alt is good. The connection on the back of the alt is cherry. What else causes that light to turn on??
Is the purge valve the thing on top of the engine or is it by the canister under the car?

Light comes on when alternator volts less than battery volts. If truck is running at idle, should have 13.8 to 14.4 volts across battery. As you turn on more loads (head lights, AC, wipers) the amps increase and the volts will drop a little, but should not drop below 13.2. If you have a bad alternator regulator, or a bad diode, you alternator may put out good volts at low amps, but under higher load can't supply it and volts drop.

Ok.. sounds like two threads here...
P0441 can be several things related to vacuum, either the purge valve is not functioning, a small leak in the evap system somewhere else, or something towards the charcoal canister, etc....
There is a good description in the RAVE, I read it several times trying to find a nugget to help me get rid of P0441. Keep in mind, p0441 is a "small" evap leak, as opposed to p0440 (i think) which is major evap leak. Same system, bigger vacuum leak.
I had replaced the purge valve the first time I got the code... About a year later it popped back up (right around inspection time)... I fought it for months, before finally replacing the purge valve again... that did the trick... so don't rule it out, even if you just replaced it.

P0441... first things to check would be the purge valve or the gas cap. I changed my purge valve which cleared the P0441 a few months ago. I went with the Autozone purge valve which did not fix it... then changed to a LR genuine purge valve... problem went away immediately.
