Default Urgh. Broke zerk fitting.

Greasing driveshaft.. got too rough with a grease fitting on the U joint. Broke off.

I’m guessing my best course is to swap the whole u joint?

You should be able to use a small Easy Out to remove the remainder of the zero.

Sorry, zerk, not zero. Darn auto-incorrect.

Nice thought and an easy try.

You can buy replacement zerk fittings at NAPA- that's what I had to do. I can't recall the size off the top of my head but I know I made a post about it so search my username and "zerk" and I'm sure it will come up.

There are only a few standard sizes of zeros. It shouldn’t be difficult to find a match.

Zeros zerks. Same thing these days.

So, it hadn’t broke off. It had actually unwound a couple of threads, and when I pulled off the grease gun nozzle it came away, I assumed it snapped.

I only realized when I noticed another one was loose.

New one Vs old one. Only three threads, and it had unwound at least one.

Got myself a kit of all sizes, can’t remember exactly, it’s the smallest one that isn’t metric.

Wound straight in. Swapped them all out. Sorted.

Pretty sure I had something similar happen and I find it much easier to get into tight driveshaft zerks with a grease needle nozzle and your zerk won't unscrew while greasing.
