Default Getting to the zerks on ujoints

My standard grease gun nozzle has a hard time fitting over the zerks on ujoints because the knuckles(?) are blocking the way. Should I file down the sides of the nozzle? Is there a smaller version?

I've looked on some other forums and people seem to suggest dropping the shaft to grease it, which is not that hard but still a PITA for something so simple.

You've still got to drop it to grease the centering ball either way.

I bought a second grease gun fitting and took it to the belt grinder and thinned down by creating two flat parallel sides. Works great for me.

Question: I still have the original front prop shaft (going to get a replacement soon). On the original, does it have a centering ball grease fitting requiring it be dropped? Or is this just on the replacement shaft? Thanks.

just replacements, the oem does not have a way to be greased, hence the problem
