Hey everybody, I just wanted to warn anyone thinking about doing valve cover gaskets, rocker arms, etc. basically any job where v/c gaskets need to be removed. I just took mine off the other day on my '03 Discovery and once I had them off, realized that I was missing three of the four steel inserts where the bolts go through the v/c gasket. Looked around on the floor and couldn't find all of them. Found two up on the frame rail, then could not locate the other one. I then noticed that there are passages right under where the inserts are located and the third one had fallen down into the lifter valley, it was easy enough to get out with a simple telescopic magnet and I'm not even so sure it would do much in there but, I certainly don't want random bits of metal floating around in my engine, ever!!
