V8 and V8i, the difference?
Herb-remember that there is no such thing as a stupid question, only stupid answers. All cars sold in the US from the mid-80's on are fuel injected. I too have seen the rear door of a DI that only said V8 and did NOT have the "i" desingnation, so my answer was a shot in the dark.
what?!?! I've just been updated to junior member, AWESOME! lol
spike- ya, i figured it wouldn't hurt to ask, on the rave cd, i can't see the differece between v8i engines and the 4.0 v8. and even though my d1 says v8i on the back, it looks just like the engine shown for the 4.0 V8

All Rover V8's are the same, just different engine management systems. The DI's have the GEMS engine management and DII's have the BOSCH system. And I obviously know nothing about the "i" desigination.
In your RAVE CD you will also find the MPI engine (4 cylinder), diesel and the LPG engines. It makes for fun reading if you are a nerd and bored.
