Default Valvoline 300K guarantee

Has anyone seen the commercial for this? I usually don't run Valvoline and I haven't bothered checking into the specifics but from what the commercial said...you sign up before 125K, I'm figuring you have to run valvoline exclusively and save reciepts etc...and they guarantee your motor to 300K miles. I'm at 80K now I think...

Any thoughts on this? =) Assuming it did work, I wonder what would blow up before 300K on a Disco, aside from leaking mirrors, buttons that pop off etc.

I picked up some of the full syn 10w-30 right after they started this campaign. I registered and kept up for one additional oil change, then forgot about it and bought Rotella the next time around

I would be interested to see what sort of loopholes they have installed in this deal, because that's a pretty bold guarantee....especially when put up against a Rover

And you know the head gaskets will fail well before 300k. And they would say, "Our oil didn't cause your head gaskets to blow.... you're on your own."

I'm willing to bet there are stipulations that make it very difficult to collect..example, oil must be changed every 3,000 miles..change it one time at 3,001 miles and you can't collect.

The fine print reads you must use their oil exclusively, change it less than every 4,000 miles, you cannot modify your vehicle, only oil "wetted" parts are covered and there is a total lifetime repair limit of $5000.

Yeah, I saw this tonight on Full Syn Valvoline oil at Wal-Mart. I bet its like trying to collect on damaged packages from UPS. 4" inches of padding all the way around your shipped item or it does not qualify for insurance claim.
So oil wetted items include block, cylinder walls, rods, pistons, front cover, timing chain. I just like using Mobil 1 or I might switch. Its funny cause the guantee decreases as you go down in grade of Valvoline oil from mineral, Semi Syn, to Full Synthetic

Valvoline Premium Conventional 150,000 mile warrenty
Valvoline MaxLife, DuraBlen Semi Synthetic 225,000 mile warranty
Valvoline Syn Power Full Synthetic, MaxLife 300,000 mile warranty

I wonder how may years till the program expires? Mmmm
