Where would you get a switch and what's involved with hooking the switch up? Is wiring already in the dash, just waiting for a switch to be plugged in?

Am I missing any steps?

1)install heated windshield and plug it in
2)install switch, somehow (tips appreciated)
3)get someone to program the BCU

I have the switches, I just want to make sure some Joe at SafetyGlass didn't replace it with just a regular WS sometime in the past.

It's an Alaskan car, so I'm sure the prior owner would have known if it had gone missing. I hope. If I have to buy a replacement, that'll ____.
Easy to check for the embedded windshield heater, you can see the verical wires about 2-3mm apart in the screen but they are extremely fine wires so best to use a magnifying glass but don't look through directly into the sun outside

I cannot remember exactly but I believe they are also controlled via a relay.

I do recollect having to get a relay from Paul Grant to turn on the heated windshield option.

If you need a magnifying glass to see those heating element wires, I'm a little concerned you're driving.

Then again, distance vision... right?

According to my dealer, '99-'01 does not need the BCM programmed. Of course that doesn't mean another dealer won't tell you it does just to get $50-$100 from ya.
