Vibration during acceleration 1999
As the title states I have a 1999 disco ii thats experiencing vibration during any acceleration and then stops when I let of the gas,I also experience this if I park and give it gas. I took it to have the U-joints replaced and it didn't fix the issue.
the shop I took it too says it might be the transfer case, should I take their word and schedule in to get that fixed/replaced?
Thanks,
Tristan

I'd have a transmission service done (fluid and filter) and change the transfer case fluid before leaping into replacing any substantial mechanical components.
It could also be that the engine mounts need replacing.

When they replaced the u-joints...did they rebuild the center bearing of the cardan joint? And make sure the balance weight hadn't came off the driveshaft?
Have you checked the transfer case fluid lately? Know issue with them running dry.
Brian.

I'll check into the fluid and filter here soon , the mechanic said they checked the engine mounts too but they looked good.
as for rebuilding it not too sure, they did say everything looked fine but I'll inquire with him again.
Thanks, I'll report back

Shortly after I bought my Disco II I had similar symptoms. It turned out that I had bad tires. But the dealership (quite a distance away) initially suspected the transfer case. After my Disco sat for five years in the garage, it also had a terrible wobble--again, tires.
A torn rotoflex could do the same. Or a really bad ball joint.
There really are a lot of possibilities.
Doesn't sound like shafts if he can park it and experience the same thing. Could be engine mounts.
Try putting the transfer case in neutral and transmission in neutral and give it a rev. Don't rev it too long, these transmissions don't like neutral revving for long periods. If it vibrates, it's most likely engine mounts. If it doesn't vibrate, put the trans in gear and leave the t-case in neutral. Try revving again. If the vibration isn't there, t-case is your issue. If not, could be the trans

Oh , me, too! Good catch, Twix.
Mounts or a problem with the front pulley. I have a thread somewhere about the rubber damper in the front pulley pressing out ever so slightly and it made quite a rumble.
