Viscous Fan Loose...
Hi guys. Had a clicking noise coming from the fan hitting a hose clamp. Moved the clamp and noticed the fan wobbling and making a godawful sound. Assume it's the water pump. Getting ready to order a OE water pump, but was wondering what else I should do while i'm in there. Front cover gasket? Oh yeah, 119,000 miles and original water pump.

Is the front cover gasket leaking? Suppose that's a stupid question eh? Replacing a water pump is a simple task, I've done 3 and the last one took less than half an hour. Replacing the front cover gasket is considerably more work, you have to remove the oil pan as well. So if your front gasket is not leaking then give it some thought. On the other hand preventative maintenance is always good if you have the time to do it. Then other questions come up like should you do timing chain and gears and the oil pump gears at the same time, decisions, decisions...
Replace the thermostat, and consider replacing coolant if it has not been done in the past 2 years.

Just something to consider...
When was your thermostat last replaced? How about the serpentine belt, cooling system hoses, etc? Since you're replacing the water pump I'd at least take the time to look at those items too...especially if you haven't personally handled their replacement yourself.
