Voltage monitor on OBD
I use an Scanguage (similar to an Ultra-gauge) to monitor my system voltage along with coolant temp. This might be a stupid question, but what should I be getting for voltage? I know 14.7 is the “standard” with the truck running but mine reads 13.6 or thereabouts. Does the gauge take a reading at the OBD port or is it getting the voltage from the truck computer. So far the truck runs ok but is slow to start if it’s been sitting more than a few days and I’m concerned that the 13.6 (if that’s the actual voltage) isn’t charging the battery as deeply as it should. Thoughts?
