I couldn't get mine to display the battery volts either. I was hoping to be able to monitor that but I don't think it's one of those options that work on a D2. I have mine displaying the intake temp on one of the screens and I think that's about as good as it gets. I normally just hit the button by the heater control when I want to check outside temp. Yeah, they definitely try to drive you nuts with the rebate thing so you'll just quit and they can keep your $9!

Thanks for the reply,I must say Im a tad unhappy with this thing.Seems like its only good for coolant temp and code reading.I know it could not read oil psi(shame) but i at least hoping for volts.

You can get a volt meter from Walmart that plugs into your cigarette lighter. It's something like $15-20.

Yep, it can only show what is sent to the OBDII as data, even though the OBDII has a +12 volt power lead that runs the Ultra Guage... (Ultra Guage should make an upgrade)

My scanner won't show volts on the Disco, but does on the SWMBO Kia ('06).

Here's the plug in volt tester https://landroverforums.com/forum/ge...hlight=voltage

As for Oil PSI or temp, those don't come out the OBDII, so no joy on that.

It can only show the info it is given, the Rover does not have a volt meter or oil pressure gauge on the dash so the ECU does not get that info so the Ultra Gauge cant show it.

But is does have a low oil press and volt warning lights so i assumed that the ultra gauge would of tapped into those sending units.

You said the magic word - warning lights - these are triggered by a switch (oil pressure) and the alternator voltage being at a certain level. No "sensor" like an engine coolant sensor or an oxygen sensor or such.

But those are not sending units, they are simply on-off switches.
Oil PSI drops below "X" and it closes the circuit and the light comes on.

It is that simple, unplug your oil PSI sending unit and touch the connector to bare metal, the light will come on if the engine is running.
If there was a oil gauge on the dash then the ECU would actually get data on oil PSI and it could be shown on the U-G.
