Default Wading Depth On A 96 Disco

What is the wading depth on a stock96 disco. Is there any way to make it so it can cross deeper streams.

The top of the tires is safe, any more then that and you will need to do alot of electrical protection and a snorkle.

How would I protect the electrical stuff. I heard there is something on the frame and if it gets wet the truck will stop.

I believe if you have a factory installed cd changer that will need to be relocated. Not familiar with the item your referring to on the frame though.

You would need to water proof all your ignition connections as well as sensors. You would nee to relaocate or put the ECU in a water tight container, seal up all the holes in the fire walls and make sure all your door seals are in good shape.
How deep are you thinking you want to go?

Where I go hunting there is about a 2 foot deep stream and it cuts the land in half.

2Feet is not a problem, go for it, slowly and at a steady speed, you'll be fine.

i think that my owners manual for a 96 disco I with a gasoline engine says that it is safe to wade up to 26", so 2 feet should really be ok.
