Wading removed my licence plate!

Wading removed my licence plate!
Well this is going to be irritating: I took the rover out wading for the first time (and she performed beautifully, stunned at how well she dealt with it), and the water coming up the front (the bow wave?) ripped the licence plate clean off!
At least that's what I think happened, didn't drag across anything, was moving forward...
I'm guessing this is going to cost me a pretty penny at the MTO office tomorrow.
Any one got any better way of mounting that front plate? Mine has just got the two screws holding the top of the plate. I can see how water rushing up the front would get in behind and force it off.
Also if there's anything I should be looking for after going through deep water for the first time… signs of disaster ahead of time… As I say she did very well, but it makes me nervous to see water that deep. At least I now know the door seals are working.
All worth it to see that turtle stick his head up and then start swimming like hell to get out of the way.

Likely time to change diff oils and transfer case oil. Depending on how high the water got and the level of your vent lines. Some vent lines are high inside the engine bay, some owners extend the others that are not. If you remove the banjo bolt from the axle you may find mud build up (rear ones). Also may have quite a bit of new mud and trash stuck to and between the radiator fins (AC condenser, oil cooler(s), and engine radiator).

From the owner's manual:
mountainous conditions.
What Rover considers arduous is everyday soccer mom to a lot of people. If vent tube from rear diff, transfer case, etc. is not above water, it can come in. Guys that do a lot of wading frequently tire of spending money on synthetic lubes.....
Some guys extend tubes with refigerator ice maker poly tubing.
Special operation conditions
When a vehicle is operated in extremely
arduous conditions, more frequent
attention must be paid to servicing
requirements.
For example: if your vehicle experiences
deep wading conditions, even DAILY
servicing could be necessary to ensure the
continued safe and reliable operation of the
vehicle.

Ah crud, I've may have been overly optimistic.
It had a hard time starting this morning, stalled a couple times and the check engine light came on.
Stored codes:
P1300 (can't find what this is)
P0301 Cylinder 1 misfire.
P0303 Cylinder 3 misfire.
P0305 Cylinder 5 misfire.
P0307 Cylinder 7 misfire.
Pending:
P2903 (again, no idea)
P0003 Fuel Volume Regulator Low
It had no codes yesterday.
Not quite sure how to procede.
Sigh.
So less water in the future.
