Default 'wandering' disco

ok, my 01 disco is doing odd things. ive noticed when i drive on the interstate lately that my girl wants to follow the ruts in the road. this has happened before with other vehicles becuase i didnt pay attention to things like tire wear and air pressure in front tires. i checked the front tire, they have equal air pressure and equal tire wear (to my uncalibrated eye at least). so what do i check next? alignment? i noticed that it is starting to pull to the left under HEAVY braking. brakes maybe? im at a loss.
here is hoping it is something simple...

check tie rod ends on the drag link and track rod, have a friend
move the steering back and fourth in quick motion with the engine off
as you check movement on the tie rod ends.
also it could be a old steering shock dampener.
hope this helps.

Might also rotate the tires and add another 5 pounds of air to your tires just incase you have a tire with a snake belt starting to show up.
Have you raised the truck, do you have the original suspension?
