Yep, SLABS are the swappable regardless of the engine.

there may be some settings that have to be changed to suit the options on your vehicle though.

SLS is the main one for sure. Not a big deal if you can verify what it came from vs what you have. If you get it & it’s wrong I’ll be glad to program it.

Thanks to all for the info. I’ve got a Nanocom so I can reprogram it.
Cheers!

Since I have a CDL nipple installed on my 2001, I want to connect a pneumatic linkage and get it wired up for use but I have an old SLABS unit SRD000070 dated 2001.
I've read that the older model SLABS units like mine can cause electrical faults when the CDL is actuated.
I wanted to find out the difference between a V8 vs. Td5 SLABS unit so I can buy the updated SRD000150 2004 dated unit and install it.

It's not an electrical fault, but engaging the CDL, then turning off the truck and starting it again with the CDL engaged will trigger the three amigos. There are other workarounds to use the older SLABS without having that happen, but the newer SLABS are said to have better programming too. So go for it!

The TC is better IMHO, and it’s not as sensitive at throwing codes like earlier SLABS Units.

I confirmed today my Foxwell NT510 can change the old stored VIN on the SRD500070 SLABS unit to my own NAS SALTY VIN.
I couldn’t do that with my Nanocom.
