Default Water in passenger side floor

well it's rained a bit and I can't figure if it is the door seal or the windshield leaking and rolling into the floor. It's only really wet by the door and the carpet keeper by the frame. After a good rain, I notice some water on my rubber mat close to the door. I have removed the panel and adjusted the upper door frame but haven't tried to adjust the door itself. I did the Vaseline trick on the rubber and it was making contact. Any ideas?

Not sure which side you are referring but only happened to me on the passenger side when the a/c drain got loose. I had a gap on my door right above the window frame that need alignment after I replaced the door and I can see water coming in when Im driving but never got the carpet wet only the passenger. Another reason why carpet is wet when the sunroof drain gets clogged really bad but you'll have signs that the front headliner is wet as well.

I meant the front windshield leaking of a leaking on the door frame. The carpet is wet by the metal door seal and I don't think it's a sunroof drain BC I just replaced all of that and made sure everything was great with them plus my headliner isn't wet. I know the a/c drain is draining properly and not into the floor. I'm pretty convinced it's a door seal of some sort or the front windshield if that could cause it. I can't find any of the other part of the carpet wet. I might have to remove the carpet and seat and have the wife spray around the door with the hose. I was hoping it might have happened to some others so I knew if there might be a good place to look. I thought the a/c drain or the heater core Gerry but it doesn't smell like anti freeze and it has that rain smell to it if that makes any sense whatsoever.

Well I took off the a pillar exterior trim and it seems as if the windshield rubber is missing in some places and think that could be the root cause of my issue. Anybody know a good place that does windshields? I've heard mixed reviews and don't want to use safelite if they will do a crappy job. I'm figuring I'll need a new set of a pillar exterior trim BC I'm sure that's not included. Insurance will cover it but don't want to have the same issue again. And FYI I still haven't verified that's exactly where it is coming from but i think that's it since I've seen how brittle the rubber is and how much is missing.

Safelite did a good job on the windshield but broke the cowling at the bottom. They replaced it, so no complaints. The real tricky part are the clips and the trim pillars. They get really brittle and the part with the clips snaps in a heart beat.
Most states require insurance to cover glass free of charge. Did you not say in another post your windshield had a crack? I could sworn you did. Not advocating a "rock" striking your windshield. It's just you, me, the forum and the NSA reading this exchange.

One of 3 possibles:

Door seal.
A/C drains blocked, tray overflowing.
Windshield leaking.

My guess is the door seal letting in water, I may be wrong.

the ac is draining fine even though I'm only running the Econ since it hasn't been hot but I'm thinking the door also just BC it gets on the mat. I've actually got brand new carpet for the front and just gotta take the seats and everything out to put it in but I won't due that until the leaks are gone

my lower cowl is fine it's just the a pillar that is cracked on the passenger side. I didn't know if they replaced all of that and the top rubber or if I needed to get who the stealership uses. Insurance covers it and I have great insurance. I just know with my wife's previous BMW's we had an independent shop who didn't know what they were doing and caused it to leak so we ended up taking it to the dealership and letting the folks they use replace it and did it that way from that point on since they knew how to properly do that vehicle. I think that is the downfall to a "luxury" vehicle, not just anybody can replace stuff on it like a regular vehicle per say.

I have this problem too, but it's further down on my list of priorities on the LR. My cowl cover and pillar trim are all destroyed, and I don't have sunroofs. I am getting a leak @ the top corner of the passenger front door roof/door/windshield area- the passenger floor mat gets wet and the headliner is discolored. Pretty much just posting in here so I can search for this thread when the time comes.

Please update after windshield fix. If you're in good with your local dealer, most of them have a water leak specialist that diagnoses and fixes water leaks and wind noises for warranty claims and used car inventory. This would be a last resort for me, just because I despise working with dealers in general, but it is an option.

well I called the dealer to find out whom they use for windshield repair but that's as far as it goes. I need the windshield replaced but I also think my leak is more the door seal
