well I called the dealer to find out whom they use for windshield repair but that's as far as it goes. I need the windshield replaced but I also think my leak is more the door seal
The windshield is electrically 'heat' glued into the body and little chance of removing it without breakage. IMO use some black RTV or hi temp silicon mastic around the windshield if you suspect it may be leaking.
I think it's a combo of both. There isn't supposed to be rain tommorow so I'm gonna adjust the door and water test. The rock hit the passenger a pillar in the perfect spot where you can't see the run without really removing the trim. I have them circled in blue. I got with insurance and they said get it fixed. Gotta love me some Alfa insurance. They never argue and always use oem stuff. The glass folks that the bham Land Rover dealer uses will do the work so I know it will be done right. He even stated most people don't remove the hood like they should to replace the glass. At least he knows his stuff. Top is where rock hit and lower circle shows where it's running and starting to come out from under the pillar trim.
Think this might have something to do with it also. I hate folks that half *** their work. Called my insurance company about the cracked windshield and they said take it where I need. They use safelite but I called the local Land Rover dealer in bham and they referred me to the guy that does all of their glass. It also looks like all the trim will get broken in the process of removing everything since whoever did the job previously, got glue on every piece. Insurance said they would cover it all. Thanks for Alfa. I think they have seen the previous claims we have had with my wife's BMW's and safelite messed them up and then they had to have the BMW dealership redo it so they said go straight to the source first. Safelite does fine on the work car n most American vehicles but suck a "luxury" vehicles in my opinion.
Well got the quote from the glass shop that will do the work.....just a little over $1600. Thanks goodness for good insurance and a $50 glass deductible. I swear when I had wranglers, I had at least 1 new windshield a month in those damn things

damn, that's pricey. Is that genuine glass with the heater wires?
Problem, they are a relatively large windscreen/windshield and some are heated and if they use OEM it's Pilkington Opticool part tinted to 23% so they are v. pricey. I'm on my third windshield since 2003 and fitted the OEM at the main dealers each time and they are pricey, v. pricey. On the last one I argued with the insurers as they said they used an untinted and unheated from Autoglass, it was made in the Philippines, so I insisted on a main agent OEM replacement from Pilkington Opticool and they agreed for no extra money. Mine is a heated screen. So give 'em hell and they'll agree to anything to get you off their back.
