I grabbed the cheap one off Lucky8. Seems to be well made.

Also - I believe it was your advice that I read to check the shaft for play when I was swapping my fan and fan clutch. Thank you. Otherwise I never would've known.

I had bad luck with the new Airtex ....its a made in China now. It says heavy duty impeller on the website ... but there is no brass like before .. The other one I had was made in Spain with brass. Airtex cheap out to scrape profits . They Got rid of the brass and changed from Spain to China to save money. "heavy duty". Just words. Any company that does this crap never gets my business. I was forced to buy the original Gen LR part for $350. I would think twice about Airtex.

One quick look at the pump and price ... there is a reason it's so cheap ...

Airtex is no good anymore .. .

I went with the Airtex AW9369 last fall. Amazon - ~$73

The only difficult part of the job was removing the old gasket. Keninnc recommended using a 3M Roloc bristle disc. It worked great and saved a lot of time. I used the white, 120-grit Roloc.

My first water pump was a GMB: new, not re-man'ed, and lasted 8 years. I bought an Airtex based on many recommendations here, and it lasted 8 months. Any opinions/ experience with the best water pump?

I think the Airtex was recommended years ago, but since then they've shifted production from Spain to China and quality isn't as good.

I used the Lucky8 pump.
