Water under the carpet
Hi I have just installing some car audio into my 1996 Discovery and found that water has soaked all the underside of the carpet (drivers side UK spec). I realise I will need to take the carpet and underlay/sound deadening out and let this dry. However where are the usual places to start looking, to either seal up, or open ie blocked drainage holes. Any help greatfully appreciated.
Thanks Jeremy
Thanks Jeremy
Check the door seal. You probably tried to run the wires through. Or check the drain hose between the glove compartment and the console. Or the hole that you made to connect your inverter.

Thanks for the replies. Firstly the car does not have a/c fitted, just an old fashioned heater and window! Secondly I have not checked if it is water or coolant, oh I look forward to having a taste. Thirdly I have not checked all the window/sunroof/pillar seals so will do this, and lastly I did not make any holes in the bodywork or cut/move/remove any water seals when installing cable into my car. So I gues it is just a case of checking what water it is and then tracing where it comes from. Thanks guys for your help so far.
