So while I am waiting for my drive shaft I am going through my annoying stuff list. I have a rear end clunk at slow speed going over bump bump while turning to the left in reverse.
I have started diagnoses it may be the watts link or may left rear spring not seated right.
How hard is to do the watts link if required ?
And does anyone have a picture of the correct orientation of the rear left spring - position of the spring pigtail at the bottom
watts linkage is a very simple replacement. three bolts -- one through each hole. you probably have to soak them with pb blaster for a bit before you try to loosen them.
on the replacement one that i got, the central hole was a larger diameter than the original. so even after replacing it, i still had the unpleasant clunking. i considered putting a sleeve around the bolt but never got around to it.
I'm about due to replace my watts linkage bushings since it has some play in it.
I've been eyeing a cranked arm set from https://www.groveautoengineering.co.uk/ with zerk/grease fittings for £400/$524 (refunds £20/$26 if you mail him your old set) .
I have to replace my watts linkage bushings. I was able to get replacement bushes. However, the set did not come with new bolts. It appears the only way to get a set is from the UK. Okay to us the old ones?
