Funny. I have owned 2 on the list and if you count the wife's vehicles, then 3 on the list. Current stable includes the DII and wife's Mini. I did enjoy my Freelander for what it was. The cracked thermostat requiring manifold removal was it's exit song for me. Her Mini has been a great vehicle approaching 70k. My DII has been wonderful minus the engine rebuild, leaky sunroof...

Edit - I also own a Lada. Guess I bring it on myself...

 

I bought my first Disco a few months ago. Even after doing head gaskets (amung other things), I have to say this is my favorite vehicle thus far. Some of my 'freinds' at work made a point to show me this article. I can see why we made the list, but I think it's for the wrong reasons.

 

Listen I love my Discovery, keep saying they are ****. Keep drivinging the price of them down. Best 2000 Dollar vechiles I've every owned.

 

Here here, i paid 3k for mine and spent another 2k in mods and just fixing it up and I have to say it looks better than some new cars on the road. I have had people comment on how they are pieces of *@"& but I always respond with "we'll not this one" Taking pride in ownership of a car far exceeds the price of any new car. It's all up to the owner!

 

My boss emailed it to me today and I felt obligated to defend us. Tomorrow he flies in to NY with a snow storm bearing down, guess which vehicle I am picking him up in and driving him around NYC?

 

Please tell me it's the Mazda!!!
