Weird chirping noise

Have a weird chirping noise on drivers side front tire. Wheel hub+bearing are 6 months old. 0-18mph

well there is the first thing. check you drive shaft. after that check you brakes. ball joints. Does it make a different sound when turning the wheel, i.e. CV joint.

Chirping noise is normally associated with front drive shaft. Are you getting any vibration at all? That can be another sympton as well

Ball joints are new, no change when turning, almost sounds like dusty brake pads. But from 0-18mph then goes away, what should I look for on the drive shaft

Mine chirped as well. However, I got the "doom-kauff" award because I didn't lube the front prop. That's where the chirping noise came from.


If you have an aftermarket front prop, should have 4 to 5 zerk joints, maybe even a "button" lube joint. Located in the cardon joints. See photo of what I am referring to for the "button" greaseable joint, as well as a couple of zerk joints.

Did you buy the chinese hub bearing or the oem one.

I think it was probably some little sweat shop kids from Bangladesh. Definetly not serpentine belt
