Weird noise
Recently went mudding and my rover died when I went through some wet mud. I had a hard time starting, but after about 5 minutes I got it going. Now there is a weird squelling noise I went to the car wash and washed it really good. has anyone had this problem before?
Go power scrub the whole under carriage and the entire engine compartment, especially the pulleys.
Do you still have the plastic shield under the front of the truck, is so, get rid of it so you can better clean up the truck after mudding.

Depending on where you got mud you could have done any number of things to your truck.
But it sounds like a fan belt problem.
Either it is loose or there is mud on it somewhere or mud behind a pulley and it is making it work harder.

Well if it is doing it when the engine is running but the truck not moving then it cant be coming from the back of the engine, nothing is back there that moves unless the truck is moving.
If it does it when moving then it is prob mud in the parking brake drum.
If that is the case then take your garden hose and try and rinse out the parking brake drum.

So, have you gone out and cleaned the truck as I suggested???
Do that first, then see if you still have the noise. As for the starting issue, that is something else, any warning lights on?

I went out and cleaned my vehicle like Disco Mike said. It seemed to help. The noise is way quieter, but when the vehicle is cold it's pretty loud. I found these holes one on both side of the front of the transmition just behind the starter and I sprayed a lot of water in there and that really helped a lot with the weird noise.
It still starts pretty hard though, but no warning lights are on. When it died first when we were in the mud all of the lights were flashing, but after sitting for about two hours the lights were back to normal.
Sorry I couldn't reply faster I'm really busy at work.
