I/2 drive short handle bar for a serpentine belt fits in there really well - for the Transfer case

HP22 is shorter = TC drain plug is not blocked by the cross member. HP24 is longer so it gets partially blocked by the cross member.

Easy there. No, not every disco. The reason I posted this is because my other disco (I have two) doesn't have it's center diff's drain plug obstructed by the cross member.

Annndddd.... this is the explanation I was looking for. Makes total sense now. I feel like a dummy for not thinking of that in the first place.

The serpentine belt kit from harbor freight comes with a flat bar with a 1/2 head on it. Works excellent for the drain/fill plug.
