My original motor made that noise. It wasn’t the end of the motor, overheating caused that.
I never found out what the noise was, and I do not believe that the head gasket job prior to finding out the block was cracked fixed it.
I’d check for oil pressure and drop the oil pan and inspect the bearings. It sounds like it is coming from there. But these noise are real hard to pinpoint, it’s loud in the compartment.

It will live. How well do you know this car? If what you say is true—the noise appears at operating temperature and goes away at > 1K RPM—you probably have some oil pressure issues. It can be anything from wrong type of oil to clogged passages somewhere. Measuring oil pressure is the key. There are many threads around here that will tell you how to do this properly.
Note, I had the same noise after buying a car. No, it was not calming at all. Cured it with proper and frequent oil changes. Now with Rotella T4, a large oil filter and an oil change every 2.5K miles, I don't hear that at all. Sometimes, sometimes... a very faint sound would appear but that is a rarity.
