How often are your inspections? If I lived in an area where low life's stole cats and I needed them for inspection I'd weld myself v band clamps on each end of the cat. When inspection is done I'd pull them and put in straight pipes. Reinstall before next inspection. The little lady is a good year into her daily driver 99 disco 2 with pipes in place of the cats, zero cel (due to o2 sensors anyways) since I installed the foolers. A set of clamps with fittings is less than 50 bucks
These can easily be worked up at home with a small portable 110v flux core welder. Much easier to grease the front drive shaft at every change without the cat and cooler on the u joints.

Id also rig my vehicle with a cattle electric fence charger. If they can't "operation" past the wires strategically ran around my cats they'd get a rude awakening.

I actually had my mechanic do the install for me, as I already had other things for him to do. Since he had to put the beast on the lift, it was a pretty straight forward install. The funny thing with it being bright orange though, is I've actually had someone yell to me thinking my exhaust pipes were on fire. LOL

Also, you will get a terrible burning smell for a few days, while the adhesive bonds to your pipes. They recommend adding a few clamps, but I haven't done that. Just used the included metal ties to keep it secure while it bonded.
