Red face Wet front Carpets - 2000 LR Disco - WTH

Trying to figure out where a leak is coming from seems like something from the center console, as per the picture. Has anybody had this experience, and is there something clogged?

Any advice or past experience would be greatly appreciated.

Sunroof? Do you have one? granted that would come from the A-pillar
AC Box? Do you see water dripping out of the AC box drains? https://landroverforums.com/forum/di...ocation-32502/

Yeah my vote would be checking the AC drains. Also see if water is getting in at the HVAC intake on the passenger side. There is a really good thread about that being a location of leaks.

I wish it was the case, I don't think it's the AC drains, but will double check. Specifically the floors get soaking wet after either a car wash or heavy rain otherwise the carpet are always dry. Maybe it's the seal around the windshield``

HVAC intake the seal under the cowl gets pretty weary and leaks pretty much exactly there

I agree with Richard, HVAC intake seal, under the black cowl, but take care as the cowl piece may be brittle and crack. The air intake is centered under that piece. Since it leaks after a wash or rain, and it runs down on top of the carpet, that HVAC intake is the likely spot.

Good luck and post what you find!

@kmrgtr you can remove the cowl with the hood in place, you will need a helper and it is wonky but it can be done. Just go slow and easy, it ends up sliding out the right hand side.

The cowl is significantly easier with the hood at least disconnected. The last time I did one was when I had the windshield replaced and we just removed the bolts for the hood with it on the prop rod, then carefully lowered and slid it a bit forward. That make the windshield way easier and the cowl just as easy.

I can’t find the thread on it, but maybe someone else’s google fu is better than mine, but there is a way to put in a simple flashing of plastic that will redirect the water away from the intake. I had this leak and must have moved something in the cowl as we’ve had a bunch of deluges over the last few months and not a drop inside, but this is definitely where I’d start.

AC intake under the cowl, for sure. You can also get a new cowl for less than $100 on eBay if you get one of the Chinese copies.
