On the back of the rear bench. Does it hold something inside or is it an attachment for something? Can it be drilled out and plugged? It sticks out so much and rubs on a frame I want to install in the trunk permanently.

 

It is to button up the flap in that rear trunk cover thing. Dont know the real name.
