What are acceptable long term fuel trim numbers?

Default What are acceptable long term fuel trim numbers?

Did a search but nothing indicated a normal range

I believe anything over +10 or lower then -10 will throw a CEL if driven long enough. Below + or - 5 is good. Balanced trims for the opposing banks is important as well

Agree with Bill, what are you seeing? If you have long term trims drastically different something has changed.

Yeah, +/- 5% is good. Mine is +1.5 on Bank 1, and 2.5 on Bank 2. Fluctuates a little bit from there.

I was at -7 and -9. Just had exhaust flange gaskets replaced and was down to 5 and 7 after 1 short drive from the shop to home. I suspect they will continue to improve as I drive it more.

If you have a scan tool capable of resetting the adaptive settings, give that a go. Otherwise, keep driving for awhile and it should correct itself out (if you fixed the problem)
