Default What am I in for?

I'm going to a junkyard and picking up a rear D2 axle housing. How much of a B**** is it going to be to take off all the parts attached to it? Am I going to be there for a long time or what?

Depends on how much you want to preserve, do you have an impact wrench?

You'll have-

Watts
Radius arms
brake lines
abs lines
prop shaft
shocks
springs
breather line
sway bar links

What do you need the housing for? If you just need the main part have them torch it off otherwise plan on a decent afternoon on your back.

going to be building a 4-link set up on it, so when I get my new suspension setup and drivetrain parts I can just swap everything onto it. Pretty much everything new besides the axle housing, which I'll be welding supports onto.

I'm okay with being under there for a while, I'll bring all my tools and pack a lunch

I'm saving my money to do everything at once, I just like doing it that way, and money wise I'm almost there.

Not to mention you probably don't have any rust in your area, so corroded and seized bolts won't be an issue.

Let me know what you come up with for the 4 link, I'm working on one as well.

Specifically the truss, as I'd love to buy one from you that I could weld onto my housing.

yeah rust is never an issue out here. I was quoted 40$ for the axle housing so I'm going to get it this weekend maybe if work isn't busy. Also, I can design a truss real easy on SolidWorks, possibly a bolt on one like drakens 4-link setup or a weld on, whatever you'd prefer.

Since the lack of space under the truck, I'd recommend a triangulated 3 link, but if you want to PM me your details you'd like on your truss. I.e. height angle etc.
